Upper Cumberland Middle Grades Math Partnership -- Cohort IV

Project Goal: To increase student math achievement in middle grades and Algebra I through intensive professional development and follow-up with math and special education teachers in grades 5 - 8.


Project Components:
   ›  Three-year commitment
   ›  Summer Institute
   ›  Two spring Saturday Professional Development workshops
   ›  Two fall Saturday Professional Development workshops
   ›  Pre-/Post-tests administered twice yearly to all intervention and control teachers


Teacher Pedagogy: The Classroom Observation Protocol will be administrered to a sample of intervention teachers which results will be reported as a mechanism to encourage the intergration of research-based pedagogy into the culture of the schools and to increase administrator awareness of the current pedagogy. There will be no comparisons between intervention and control groups.
