Spaces Available for Children in Putnam County Schools’ Pre-k Programs

Updated: March 24, 2011

The State of Tennessee’s Voluntary Pre-k program in Putnam County Schools has openings for qualifying families.

Qualifications for eligibility include:

1. Child must be four years old on or before September 30, 2012.

2. Child must qualify for free/reduced lunches.

3. Children with disabilities, children identified as English Language Learners, in state custody, or those at risk for failure due to circumstances of abuse or neglect.

4. Children who meet other at-risk criteria as established by the local Community Pre-k Advisory Council (C-PAC) which may include children in single parent homes or being raised by grandparents. Our goal is to assist families and the community in providing developmentally appropriate support and services.

We participate in Putnam County Schools’ Child Nutrition Services, offering children breakfast and lunch, and provide extended care for children after school for working parents.

Applications will be available at all elementary schools and all sites with pre-k programs, the Putnam Co Board of Education.

Employee Daycare Program
Employee daycares are available for the children of Putnam County School Employees and students.  Ages 6 weeks to 4 years of age are cared for at Prescott Central Middle School’s Prescott Pups.  Applications are available at each site and at Putnam County Board of Education office.

Questions may be directed to Diana Nichols at 528-1847.
